Both of these paintings were from a great book I found recently in a charity shop by Artist Helmut Middendorf. His use of texture, and colour really caught my eye and have given me some inspiration for a few make up charts I’m currently working on.
This was such a fun shoot to be apart of, it was fun to go a little crazy with the paints, and this shoot was a lot about textures, as well as intense colour!

I treated myself to another second hand purchase recently…the book that taught the legendary make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin. The book is called Designing your face by Way Bandy. Its fascinating reading tips and techniques from the 70’s where the book dates back to. It gives such a great insight into how they had to mix so many colours of foundation to balance a skintone, and just goes to show how far the technologies of today have come. It focuses heavily on the importance of shade and highlight and how these basic principles really can sculpt a face! I shall take great care of this little piece of history.

REN Skincare is one of my all time favourites when it comes to great skincare with no nasties. I was recently invited to their press day for new product launches, and as someone who was a fan before, I left a REN devotee. Their products deliver great skin care benefits for everyone, even sensitive skins. They smell beautiful (yet not artificial) and their emphasis is on CLEAN skin which is what REN translates to in Swedish. Unlike many other brands they carry a No stamp on their products, which promises the following:
No Parabens, Sulfates, mineral oil, petroleum, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colours, T.E.A, D.E.A, Glycols, Silicones, PEGS ET AL.
Check out their website also to see their latest short film and new products: http://www.renskincare.com/?gclid=CJjRy9Ksma4CFSMLtAod-RylLQ
My favourite product at the moment is the BIO RETINOID ANTI AGEING CONCENTRATE which smells delicious and makes skin feel incredible, use under your night time moisturiser.
